That’s what faces you if you choose to race a Cobra at the Le Mans Classic. Night racing in a car with historic brakes, historic lights and absolutely zero external illumination. As a spectator it’s glorious, as a driver it must be incredible.
Here we’re onboard a rumbling Cobra as it battles another pair. One is dispatched very early in the lap, but the second – the famous 39 PH – continues to provide accompaniment right the way down the Mulsanne straight. Into the second Mulsanne chicane 39 PH provides some spectacular additions to the show as it spits vivid blue fire into the air in front of us.
It’s a properly spellbinding watch, over five minutes that you will struggle to tear your eyes away. For the full effect, we recommend watching on your TV, at night, with the lights off.
