Colin McRae was one of the finest WRC racers that the world has ever seen. With 25 rally wins and a world title to his name, in 1995 the then 27-year-old became the youngest person (and the first Scot) to win the World Rally Championship title, a record he still holds today.
Suffice to say, we don’t exactly need proof of his prowess, but we enjoy it nonetheless. And this vintage onboard has to be one of the most casual hot laps we’ve ever seen. Join McRae in his 1999? Ford Focus WRC Martini rally car as he tears around a dusty hillside course, calmly explaining his techniques to a terrified passenger.
Around halfway through the four-minute clip, the screen splits to include a pedal cam angle and we’re treated to a deft display of toe-tapping.
