A new free update for Gran Turismo 7 has gone live today (21st February), with the usual batch of new cars and tracks joined by a major feature addition: support or Playstation VR2, Sony’s latest virtual reality equipment for the PS5.
Yes, that means the support is only there for PS5 players, though all GT7 players will get the general game content additions. Full support means players will be able to race online and in career using PS VR2, as well as a new feature called ‘VR Showroom’. This will allow PS VR2 users to look in detail around super high definition car models in their choice of a number of environments.
The game makes full use of PS VR2’s eye tracked foveated rendering, which focuses the power of the console on rendering parts of the virtual environment that you’re looking at, as you look at them. The PS VR2 also features optimised HDR tone mapping and dynamic 3D audio.
