2023 Le Mans 24 Hours entry list revealed

Porsche headlines the top category, with three cars from the factory team plus a privateer entry from JOTA. Cadillac will enter three of its V-Series R cars, one season-long World Endurance Championship car and two from IMSA while Toyota, Peugeot, Ferrari and Glickenhaus all enter a pair of cars. The final Hypercar entry is the slightly uncertain Vanwall Vandervell 680 from the Floyd Vanwall Racing Team, driven by Jacques Villeneuve. 

Drivers confirmed in the top category so far include former F1 racers Sebastien Bourdais, Kamui Kobayashi, Brendon Hartley, Sebastien Buemi, Will Stevens, Paul Di Resta and Jack Aitken, as well as 1997 World Champion Villeneuve. 

The 24 cars in LMP2 will be split into LMP2 and LMP2 Pro/Am, with eight cars entered into the latter category. All cars in the P2 field are Oreca O7s with drivers including Pietro Fittipaldi, Oliver Jarvis, Filipe Albuquerque, Bent Viscaal and Daniil Kvyatt. 

The GT ranks are entirely made up of GTE-Am entries for the first time. The Pro category bowed out at the end of the 2023 WEC season, but GTE cars race on for one final year of Pro/Am racing. The field is made up of cars from Porsche, Ferrari and Aston Martin with Corvette entering cars into the Am category for the first time ever with Ben Keating. Hollywood A-lister Michael Fassbender will return for a second attempt at the Le Mans 24 Hours with Proton Competition in a Porsche 911.

The final car on the grid is the Garage 56 entry from Hendrick Motorsports. This Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 NASCAR Cup Series car has been highly modified to run with a hybrid system, lights and extra downforce and will be raced by seven-time NASCAR champion, and Goodwood racer, Jimmie Johnson, former Le Mans winner Mike Rockenfeller and 2009 F1 champion Jenson Button. 

“The 24 Hours of Le Mans is poised to celebrate its 100th anniversary in June, in what will be the fourth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship,” said ACO President Pierre Fillon.

“In addition to the extraordinary entertainment program, the Centenary will also be celebrated on track, where we can expect a series of spectacular clashes.

“To witness the Centenary of such an iconic race is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Few events can boast such longevity and offer what promises to be one of the greatest sporting occasions in history.”
