Video: New Lexus GT3 racer tests at Spa ahead of 2026 debut

That’s still the best part of two years away, and yet here it is, seemingly pretty much finished, tearing its way around Spa-Francorchamps during a WEC test.

It’s clearly still in an early development phase, decked out in full camouflage livery and still at least 18 months away from a potential debut at the 2026 Daytona 24 Hours, but one thing's for sure - we’re incredibly interested in what’s going on under that very long, Supra-esque bonnet.

For there is a big booming V8 under there. Early speculation suggests it’s twin-turbocharged, and delivering substantial amounts of power. All we know for now is that it sounds absolutely epic, more than a match for the big V8 Mustang also seen in this video, a car with which the Lexus will be preparing to go toe-to-toe.

We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more information on this car, yet another exciting addition to a current roster of endurance racing machinery that is breathing new life into the World Endurance Championship and the Le Mans 24 Hours.
