Andretti Formula E launches Season 11 colours inspired by its American roots

Andretti Formula E has launched its new livery for the upcoming season with a design that pays homage to the team's American heritage on its Porsche 99X Electrics single-seaters.

Based on last season's colours, the new look consists of a white base layer, with a blue (and thicker) red band that stretches from the cockpit to the back of the car. Black is also used to take optic weight away from the car's tub – a trick learnt from electric SUVs – and the dorsal fin that stretches behind the air box. As before, sponsors include Guggenheim Partners, Prysmian Group, NAGASE Group and Crowe UK.

Andretti is a founding member of Formula E, having competed in the series since 2014, however it is yet to win the teams’ championship. It finished fifth in the teams’ standings last season, with Jake Dennis earning its only victory of the campaign at the Round 2 Diriyah E-Prix.

Dennis came seventh in the drivers’ championship, with team-mate Norman Nato down in 15th. Ahead of Season 11, Nato has been replaced with new signing Nico Müller, who will partner former world champion Dennis for the team's assault on the 16-race calendar with São Paulo, Brazil, hosting the opening race on the 7th December.

Muller said: "I'm very excited to join the Andretti Formula E team. It's a team that has seen success from the very beginning of the Championship, particularly in the Gen3 era with their partnership with Porsche. To work with Jake, a World Champion, is an honour, and I'm going to give it my very best to contribute to the team's success."

Before the season begins, the team gets its first opportunity to use the new Gen3 Evo car when it heads to Valencia, Spain, for four days of testing, the final day of which will see Formula E's first all-female test in which Andretti will be represented by F1 Academy drivers Chloe Chambers and Nerea Martí.

The Gen3 Evo is 36 per cent faster than the car it replaces, with 0-62mph coming up in 1.82 seconds – unheard-of acceleration for a two-wheel drive machine.
