Doriane Pin will represent the Mercedes F1 team in F1 Academy for the 2024 season. She has signed for the Prema team with which she has already built a strong relationship over the course of 2023.
Pin raced for Prema in both the World Endurance Championship and Formula 4 in 2023. Competing in the LMP2 class, she finished second at the 1000 Miles of Sebring alongside Daniil Kvyat and Mirko Bortolotti.
Her performances throughout the WEC championship saw her named 2023 FIA WEC Revelation of the Year. She is certainly on the radar as one of the most exciting young female talents currently racing in the higher levels of motorsport.
During half a season in the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship she managed four podiums in six races, including a race win at Sepang, on her way to second in the drivers’ championship, only behind Jack Beeton who had completed the full season.
In 2024, Pin has already made a start to her season in the Formula 4 UAE championship, where she scored points in two of the first three rounds at Yas Marina. She will make her F1 Academy debut in March in support of the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix.
“I’m incredibly happy to join the Mercedes Junior Programme and to represent the team in F1 Academy this year with Prema,” said Pin.
“A new chapter begins, and I am proud to make this next step in such a prestigious team and with the Iron Dames project. I am grateful for their trust and honoured to race for their colours.
“Moving into single-seaters was a clear objective for my career, and to be in this environment is a great approach. I am working very hard to reach the top level of this sport and I cannot wait to go racing.”
Mercedes F1 Team Principal, Toto Wolff said: “Doriane is an exciting talent and we’re pleased to begin our participation in F1 Academy with her as our chosen driver.
“We have kept a close eye on her development in recent years as she has consistently impressed.”
