With a launch date revealed for the hotly-anticipated open-world driving game Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown, the countdown is finally on until we can finally play the game. What remains an enigmatic title still has its mysteries even as we creap up on its release, so we thought we’d answer (to the best of our knowledge) one of the community's biggest burning questions: what does the car list look like?
It’s been a long time coming and, mostly thanks to an up and down promotional campaign, TDU: Solar Crown is a game we’ve spent a long time waiting for information on. We know where's based, we know about a lot of the game’s unique features, we now even know when it's coming out, but what we don’t know yet, is the full official car list.
With a bit of research, it seems there are quite a few known to be in the game already. If we had to guess, we’d say around 80 per cent of the game’s car list is already out in the open – a 100+ car list is confirmed for launch – but we’ll update this as more are revealed. There’s certainly good variety already. All the trailers have teased everything from classic cars to hypercars, to off-roaders and even buggies.
The developers have pushed hard in terms of progression too. There won’t be a click wheel you spin every day for a free car. Rather, you’ll have to put in the play time to make in-game money and save up for the cars you really love. Apparently, microtransactions – paying real money for in-game money – will not feature in TDU: SC.
Once you have the money, like in TDUs of old, the dealership experience begins, where you can customise your car with manufacturer-specific wheels, paint colours, and interior trims. Then, new for Solar Crown, is the tuning, paint, and livery garage so you can go even further making your cars your own.
Anyway, from A to Z, here are the cars we know to be featuring in TDU: SC.
