Ok, I think the world of remote-control cars has just peaked. This video is simply the greatest montage of aspirational brilliance, anyone who ever played with RC cars had this in their mind’s eye, even if the reality was often far less impressive.
I’m not even exactly sure how this is done. How do you get a remote-control car to handle like this? Not only are they drifting, but they’re doing it in ridiculously close formation, with the kind of skill you’d expect from the drifting legends we’ve seen in action at Goodwood in years gone by.
The drifting antics is one thing, then on the second watch, you notice all of the other details, like the scene built to host these cars. It’s painstakingly created, with chain-link fences, signposts, and even convenience stores. The road surface is polished, so the headlights reflect for the ultimate night racing effect. This is genuinely cooler than real life when you consider the effort that’s gone into it.
Then there’s the cars themselves. Even if they weren’t drifting around, the models are astonishingly well-detailed. Some of the mods are works of art, with the ridiculous cambers and body kits and liveries.
It makes you question what you’ve been doing with your life. Why isn’t there a life-like replica of Tokyo in my garage with a fleet of modded RC drift cars?
