Many things are truly baffling about the speed at which racing drivers attack a circuit in a racing car. More often than not it appears videos like this are on fast-forward, rather than hard evidence of frankly flagrant violations of the laws of physics. In wet conditions, like what we see here, the effect of race pace appearing more like witchcraft is confounded. So join us in the cockpit of a Mercedes-AMG GT3 in a full wet race around Portimao.
Once you’re past the glory of that racing AMG V8, the way driver Daan Arrow masters the balance of the car in the damp is simply spellbinding. He dispatches one, two then three Porsche 911 GT3 Rs with relative ease and continues on his charge, jumping in and out of an inconsistent dry line to find pace where he can. It’s a fairly spectacular drive to witness.
