Yes, there are actually people in the world who play Mario Kart and think doing it in real life would be fun, minus a front wheel. And instead of eight competitors, as there is in the game, there are more than 20, all vying for the same piece of tarmac. They clearly have a good time, braking into the apex of hairpin turns, pedalling frantically to get up to speed, almost lying down to make themselves aerodynamic and fist-pumping other competitors, but does this not look absolutely terrifying? Yes, they have helmets and body armour, but guardrails and rocks aren’t all that forgiving…
