It’s full steam ahead on the preparation of Ford’s next-generation rally car, the Puma Rally1. Yes, as we saw at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard for the very first time, the Puma is replacing the Fiesta for the hybrid era.
Watch here as the car, built to the new Rally1 rules, that see the series shift away from homologated road cars to specially-built rally cars, puts in a shift in Finland, tearing up a forest stage in preparation for next year’s season beginning in January. And which stage? Only Ouninpohja, one of the fastest and most famous stages on the entire calendar.
Needless to say, much of the stage is spewed up into the atmosphere and over the surrounding area by the rabid Puma, to a soundtrack of anti-lag, rev limiter bashing and cracking sequential shifts. We can’t wait to see this thing in action…
