Spa is one of the coolest and trickiest race tracks on Earth, for multiple reasons. A huge part of it is the changeable conditions – you can be driving in perfect sunshine on a hot surface on one side of the track and in a torrential downpour on the other.
This is why feeder series like the Porsche Carrera Cup are utterly essential and invaluable, to allow drivers to prove their skills and learn the idiosyncrasies of tracks like Spa, that you only get with experience. In today’s video, we get a front-row seat for that action, with Dirk Schouten in the Carrera Cup at Spa.
This is the beauty of modern cameras and the internet, being able to get closer than ever – a literal driver’s-eye view – of the action, as he battles his way around Spa. As you’d expect, we see everything from clear sunny skies, to sudden showers but through it all, Schouten battles valiantly to secure P10.
