At one of our twice-yearly race meetings we hold at Goodwood, you can assume you’re in something mid-engined, V8-powered and vaguely terrifying if you’re clocking lap-times in the low-1.20s. It’s also a safe assumption that you’re a fairly handy driver, too.
Imagine, then, shaving nearly half a second off Nick Padmore’s official flying lap-record of 1.18.2 that he set in a Lola T70 Spyder, from a standing start. Nope. We struggled too. An on board of this mind-boggling feat is required. It had to be a Radical or some such demonic track-demolishing monster.
