It's fair to say that we have felt the absence of Le Mans very keenly in this office, La Sarthe being almost as familiar to many of us as the race circuit right outside our door. So we have been reliving some great moments from the 2019 race and this particular clip jumped out at us.
The fact that it takes place on the opening lap, with almost a full day of racing to go doesn't mean this trio of drivers in the GTE-Pro class holds back. What we have is Ford GT driver Harry Tinknell all over the rear diffuser of Nicki Thim's Aston Martin while Antonio Garcia eyes up his chances of taking both of them from the Corvette. And that's not to mention the rest of the pursuing pack. Imagine maintaining that sort of pace for another 23 hours and 52 minutes.
