A few weeks ago, we took you to a test of the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12, Lamborghini’s newest track-only hypercar. Close ups and flybys were the theme then, and we were left with the promise of onboard action to come. We haven’t been disappointed, as YouTuber 19Bozzy92 has released a 13-minute compilation of epic onboard scenes from the same test at Monza.
Climb aboard with Lamborghini racing driver Raffaele Giammaria as he puts the development mule through its paces. From the gargling pit limiter, it lets rip across the startline, the naturally-aspirated V12 screaming on acceleration, and the car squirming under heavy braking. The purpose of the test was mainly on those brakes and Giammaria doesn’t hold back as he flies into Monza’s 11 turns.
A combined project between Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse and Centro Stile, the Essenza SCV12 is powered by the most powerful production naturally-aspirated V12 ever – a 6.5-litre unit that puts almost 840PS (619kW) to its rear wheels via a six-speed sequential X-trac gearbox. With a new carbon-fibre monocoque, the 40-unit limited edition model is the first GT car developed to adhere to FIA prototype safety rules, while the quick replacement bodywork features aerodynamics derived from the Huracan Super Trofeo and GT3 cars.
The development mule in this video accurately reflects the production model, however retains the camouflaging wrap, emblazoned with ‘Attenzione, Machina Veloce’. And we don’t know about you, but we quite like it…
