There’s light at the end of the tunnel; track days are restarting, and some racing is returning from July, albeit behind closed doors.
But for the meantime we’re surviving on YouTube rations, searching out the very best titbits from previous events. And today, we have an epic run from the 2014 Blancpain Endurance Series to show you. And by epic, we mean over-take-12-cars-before-the-end-of-the-first-corner kind of epic.
Filmed from the cockpit of Alex Buncombe’s Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3, the seven-minute video displays exactly why the Somerset driver deserves his spot on the grid. He seems to see gaps that no one else thinks worth aiming for.
Having muscled his way past 12 rivals in the first 20 seconds, he then continues with an impressive chase through the first few laps of the race, flirting with the opposing cars through corners before ducking and diving to pass them on the straights.
The screaming engines and incredible high-definition action is enough to keep any racing fan transfixed throughout, and it’s easy to see how the video has garnered more than 365,000 views since it was uploaded by the pilot himself six years ago…
