Sixteen miles, 170 turns, and more than 300 metres of elevation change… It can only be the Nürburgring Nordschliefe.
And while the real deal may still be just out of reach, there’s countless epic onboards from back when racing was underway. And this clip, courtesy of American racing legend Jim Pace, is today’s favourite.
Filmed back in 2014, it shows the American sportscar ace taking on the undulating raceway with a fervour. But his speed doesn’t come at the expense of style, with Pace piloting his GT86 race car smoothly throughout, albeit he only realises he can turn the traction control off a few minutes in – then it gets really good.
The infamous Nürburgring mist doesn’t faze Pace, as he flies around the Green Hell, more than living up to his name.
