This morning we’d like to turn your attention to this showcase of pure rallying entertainment. While we all love to revel in the seemingly endless talent of the world’s best rally drivers in the WRC, sometimes it’s nice to take a step back to a more grass roots level of motorsport.
Over in a quiet corner of Poland, this group of rallying enthusiasts got together on a cold day in February and put on their own motorsport event with a wonderfully eclectic selection of machinery, some of which have pretty questionable rallying credentials. There’s an array of Fiat Seicentos and Fiat 129Ps among a handful of BMW E36 Compacts, a Nissan 200SX S13 and much more besides.
The drivers are all throwing themselves into it with a huge amount of exuberance, too, tackling the rough and primitive looking stage with varying levels of success, but equal measures of commitment. All of these cars are getting pushed to the absolute limit, often a touch beyond it, and taking an absolute beating in the process. The resulting show is hugely entertaining from start to finish.
