While all eyes were on F1 at Sakhir this weekend, there was no shortage of action on the muddier side of the motoring spectrum.
During the ACI Rally Monza, the final round of this year’s World Rally Championship, a fight for supremacy unfolded between Toyota Gazoo Racing teammates Sébastien Ogier and Elfyn Evans. With a 14-point lead over his team-mate, Evans looked set to take the race along with his maiden championship… We won’t spoil the rally results for you, but instead we will prove just why Toyota is consistently at the forefront of the sport.
For today’s Elevenses, we’re taking you back a week to the Friuli Toyota Gazoo Racing test before the final round of the 2020 WRC. Join Ogier, Rovanpera, Evans and Takamoto as they blat through the mountains of North-East Italy, pushing the diminutive little Yaris WRCs to the limits of their capabilities. Listen as the 1.6-litre turbocharged engines roar furiously, spitting 385PS to all four wheels, while aero bodywork holds them close to the road.
