The 2023 season of endurance racing can’t come soon enough and with every reveal and every glimpse of testing action, we get ever more excited. That’s probably reached a new peak with these new clips of IMSA GTP (LMDh) testing at Sebring, involving the new Porsche 963 and, in this particular video, the Cadillac Project GTP Hypercar. We’re so excited to hear its engine, which contrary to many suspicions, carries the naturally-aspirated torch on from its DPI predecessor and indeed, the old Corvette C7 R.
Yes, naturally aspirated. It can’t be mistaken for anything else with that rapturous V8 thunder rolling across Sebring’s paving. Then of course there are the striking looks of Cadillac’s sportscar protagonist, whose fullest form has been deftly disguised for these testing runs. We do see hints of those vertical lights, and indeed the aero blades sprouting out above the wheels. It’s going to be a properly stunning thing and unmistakable as it thunders down the Mulsanne Straight, or around the banking at Daytona. Hurry up 2023.
