Video: Ride onboard the brand new Ferrari 499P at Sebring
This is the first time you'll ever get the chance to ride onboard Ferrari's new Le Mans Hypercar: the 499P. It's making its racing debut this weekend at Sebring and the World Endurance Championship has just releasd this footage.
The first thing that hits us? The sound of the hybrid system. We already know what these kind of sportscar racing V8 engines sound like, but the strength of the hybrid wine as it cuts in above its set speed and then recharges is incredible.
Then what hit us was the speed. This is not the days of LMP1H monsters, but these new Hypercars are anything but slouches, and the tricky, bumpy, confines of Sebring are a perfect demonstration of just how capable these new sportscars are. Are we looking forward to Ferrari's first top level sportscar racing in 50 years? Yes.
