We’re constantly hearing about how the latest sim racing game is “the closest thing to real racing you can get” and it’s no lie that they get more realistic with every generation. But how do you take it to the real next level? How do you get your sim racing experience to the point at which it feels like real racing too?
We would argue that Matthias Fulczyk’s setup is as close at home as you could really get. Not only is the standard kit (wheel, gearstick, handbrake etc) absolutely top notch, but the ultra-wide curved screen in use is probably as close as you can smoothly get without a VR headset to real visual racing thrills.
Oh, and then there’s the fact that his rig has a full motion setup to recreate every bump, jump and G-force – perhaps the one thing most missing from the sim racing experience. So actually this one may well be the closest you can get to racing a real car, while staying at home.
