And that’s the situation in the dry… in the wet things don’t exactly get any better. In fact the slick surface just seems to magnify all the problems a V8 supercar has. Of course the only way to make a V8 Supercar even more scary, is to fling it around Bathurst.

At almost no point does Supercars driver Cam Waters’ Ford Mustang have full traction on his qualifying lap around the the Mount Panorama circuit. It’s a constant battle between speed and friction, and involves the 28-year-old Australian hammering the Ford down the gears to slow the car down with the engine rather than snatching the brakes.
It might be the most terrifying thing you’ll watch today, but it’s definitely the best driving skill you’ll see.
