Video: Travis Pastrana lights up Florida with Gymkhana heroics

It’s an incredible car, being driven by an unbelievable driver, doing some quite ridiculous things. We thought this thing was impressive when it was flying up the Hill at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, but set it loose on a beach in Florida and it’s reached a whole different level.

The standard Gymkhana elements are all present: plenty of high-speed drifting and a healthy dose of tyre destruction. But this is all just the warm up act for some truly alarming set pieces. There’s a monster truck doing a handstand, a drag race with a fighter jet, and a jump over a helicopter.

Perhaps the moment that grasped our attention the most was an outrageous jump, which we think he’s taken at about 165mph, that sees him leap over a bridge at what must be something like ten feet in the air.

You simply have to watch this video. It doesn’t feel like long ago that we were enjoying Ken Block’s introduction of Electrikhana, and now Travis has stepped up a delivered this astonishing film. The superlatives could keep on flowing.
