While the coronavirus has put the world in quarantine and motorsport on hold, a couple of race events managed to squeeze in before the lockdown began. One such event was the 2020 Trans Am Series season opener at the Sebring International Raceway, which took place over the weekend of February 29th to March 1st.
More than 50 cars competed across five different classes at the Floridian raceway, including Chevrolet Corvettes and Camaros, Ford Mustangs and Dodge Vipers. Among the European offerings on track were Porsche 911 GT3 and GT4s, a BMW E92 M3 and even a pair of Aston Martin Vantages.
Unfortunately, we didn’t realise that this would be the last live motorsport for a while, and so forgot to book our flights to Florida. Luckily for us, the race has now been uploaded in its entirety to YouTube, and we’ve found ourselves transfixed with some sunny sportscar action…
