The Subaru WRX STI hasn’t been a force in the World Rally Championship for a very long time now (it’s a sad fact, but it’s true). But over in America, admittedly not a well-known homeland of rallying, Subaru still sends WRX STIs out onto rally stages.
Here we join Subaru Rally Team USA driver (and freeride mountain biker) Brandon Semenuk, and British team-mate Robbie Durant, through a heavily forested gravel stage on the American rally championship. With a camera positioned perfectly to see not just what’s heading toward the Subaru, but also see the inputs of Semenuk it’s a wild ride through an exceptionally fast stage.
And Semenuk is not holding back, in fact he’s pushing hard enough for co-drive Durant to emit a loud “oooohhhh” at about 2 minutes 30 seconds, followed by a “woooh” about 30 seconds later. It’s a very fun ride, through an exceptionally fun looking stage.
