Daffodils are blooming and the sun is peeking through a blanket of cloud – here in the UK we’re less than a month away from the official start of Spring, and we can’t freaking wait. However, elsewhere in the world, snow is still in abundance, and French rally legend Sébastien Ogier is making the most of the white stuff.
Testing ahead of the Arctic Rally Finland, the seven-time World Rally Champion pushes his Yaris WRC to the limit on an icy, snowbank-lined course. The furious little 385PS (220kW) hot hatch slips and slides while screaming to the heavens, sending clouds of snow dust flying in its wake. Driving on ice is one thing, but boasting this level of sheer control with next to no grip is the next level.
Take two this morning to marvel at both Ogier’s skill, and the incredible Finnish landscape, which will play host to the second round of the 2021 world Rally Championship calendar this coming weekend.
