Just wow. The Nürburgring Nordschleife is by far and away the most intimidating, challenging and complex race track in the world, and that’s on a perfectly dry day with perfect driving conditions. Here, we have a very talented Nürburgring Driving Academy instructor sliding an open-wheel single seater around this legendary circuit… in the snow.
That’s right, it’s minus 16 degrees outside, treacherous conditions that you wouldn’t even want to drive to work in, and here we are sending a racing car out onto a notoriously tricky 14.7-mile loop. Why not?
This is no slow-motion demonstration run either, by the way. This driver is genuinely going as fast as it appears possible as the car snakes its away through corners and straights alike. It doesn’t look like there’s any grip at all to be honest and yet the car somehow remains where we think the track should be… it’s difficult to tell.
Aside from the obvious peril involved in this, it looks like brilliant fun, like something out of video game, we’d truly love to have a go. Maybe we could do some snowy laps at Goodwood one day.
