How to Read F1 (currently £13.99)

Heard on the radio or seen in Netflix’s Drive to Survive, Jennie Gow is a respected figure in the Formula 1 paddock, and it’s this depth of knowledge and experience which informs her book, How to Read F1. Complete with neat illustrations, this handy guide covers everything you could need to know – from drivers and influential figures to technical jargon, helping you to better understand the landscape of F1.

This book makes the perfect stocking filler for newbies and veteran viewers alike, thanks to detailed but accessible explanations paired with trivia and insights from Gow’s experiences, all presented in an easily digestible A-Z format. An ideal way to pass those in-between days, but if you still need more convincing then you can read our full review here

Racing Cars Metal Construction Set (£25)

Get your tools at the ready, or rather, out of the box, because this Racing Cars Metal Construction Set comes with everything you need to build your own racing car. With 279 pieces, this set makes for a great way to pass a few hours by yourself or as a group project, and the building process can also help teach basic engineering skills, making this a great way for parents to introduce budding enthusiasts to cars.

Made of durable stainless steel and inspired by Meccano builds, there’s a charmingly tactile quality to this construction set, topped off with its bright red accents. And once it's complete, you get to proudly display your car on a desk or shelf and let everyone know that you built it yourself.

Race Simulator Experience (£50)

If you’ve ever had dreams of replicating the likes of Sir Stirling Moss and racing round the Goodwood Motor Circuit, then the Race Simulator Experience is the gift for you. First opened in 2023, the Simulator Suite is a stone’s throw away from the track and with four Exsim VR5 Simulators, it’s the perfect place to throw down a challenge to your mates to see who the best racer really is.

These sim rigs offer a unique virtual racing experience which allows you to feel every part of the track, and there will be an instructor on hand to offer expert advice before you complete your timed laps, pushing to make it on to the Motor Circuit leaderboard.

Goodwood event tickets (starting from £67)

Or maybe you’d prefer to see the pros in action, instead – after all, there’s nothing quite like motorsport at Goodwood. The 2025 calendar promises to be unmissable, whether it’s the first competitive GT3 Shootout at the 82nd Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport, the summer spectacle that is the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard or the step back in time that only the Goodwood Revival can deliver.

With a range of tickets on offer, you can get up close and personal with iconic racing machines, enjoy the finest hospitality experience or find your own spot along the Hillclimb from which to soak in the action. Forget Advent, unwrap one of these and a whole new countdown to excitement begins.

GRRC Fellowship (£85 for a year)

For something more exclusive, look no further than gifting a GRRC Fellowship. Fellows have the distinct privilege of priority access and discounts on tickets to the Festival of Speed and Revival, not to mention it’s the only way to secure entry to Members’ Meeting.

Being part of the GRRC is a must for any automotive enthusiast. Fellowship opens up the doors to unforgettable club events, such as track days, regional drives and factory tours all to be enjoyed with a passionate, like-minded community. For a gift that keeps on giving, GRRC Fellowship is just the thing, and if you are purchasing one as a gift, there is a thoughtful gifting certificate you can download to present to your loved one on the big day.

Off-Roading Driving Experience (starting from £149)

Gifting an experience is the perfect way to help someone make memories they’ll treasure for a lifetime. The first of two experience packages we’ve featured in this guide, the Off-Roading Driving Experience here at the Goodwood Motor Circuit offers the chance to take in the charms and quirks of classic 1960s Land Rovers as you adventure through trenches, inclines, descents and mud traps in what promises to be ride like no other.

Driving activities include the timber slalom, the axle twist and log bridge, and you can share the day with up to three friends with a group ticket. Whether it’s together or as an individual, this is a fantastic way to live out those explorer fantasies as you tackle the tricky terrain.

baby porsche copy.jpg

Baby Porsche (£190)

For any angelic toddlers out there, this Baby Porsche is the least that they deserve. Designed for children from 18 months to three years, what better way to get them used to the feeling of being behind the wheel than this shrunk-down Porsche? This model features a mechanical horn, touch screen and a wheel that’s easy for small hands to grip.

It’s also available in a vivid Miami blue shade, but only this Lava version includes lighting, where the headlights and taillight strip can be turned on via an integrated touch switch. Plus, its bright orange colour will no doubt make it a great feature in any room. All that remains is to clear a route through the house and watch the beginnings of a budding motorsport career unfold.

ferrari technic copy.jpg

Ferrari SF-24 Lego Technic (£199.99)

Lego has an incredible range of Formula 1 builds on sale, from one for each 2024 car to new Icons and Technic sets. We’d be happy to receive any of these models, but we’ve singled out this Ferrari SF-24 Technic for how beautifully detailed it is. 1,361 pieces certainly presents a challenge (hence why this is marked for ages over 18), but its lifelike design lets you assemble the suspension and adjustable spoiler, all the way down to the engine cover concealing a V6 engine and spinning MGU-H.

The only downside is that Father Christmas won’t be able to place it under the tree in time. These new Lego sets are only available for pre-order, but we reckon March isn’t too long to wait for a present this good.

cufflinks copy.jpg

Racing Car Cufflinks (£355)

Moving away from the toys, if you’re after a bit of sparkle in your stocking then these Sterling Silver Racing Car Cufflinks are just the ticket. This charming classic racing car design is based on the cars which graced the Goodwood Motor Circuit in the 1950s and bring a motorsport nod to the smartest of outfits.

This little car sports a stylish petrol blue livery which can bring a pop of colour when paired with a classic white shirt. A thoughtful and timeless gift, unwrapping these cufflinks will lead happy memories wear after wear, be it to the Goodwood Revival or on a Sunday drive.

Goodwood Revival Racing Experience (£595)

If you’re looking to really wow someone this Christmas, the second driving experience package of this list ticks that box and then some. The Goodwood Revival Racing Experience goes all out to provide a brilliantly authentic, exhilarating day spent mastering the craft of driving a classic car.

You will be able to drive four cars from a selection of restored 1950s and ‘60s classic saloons and GTs across 12 laps of the Goodwood Motor Circuit, but the experience doesn’t stop when you’re out of the cockpit. All aspects of the day are marked with details to truly immerse you in the 1960s, right down to the music and the decor. If there’s a Revival superfan in your life, then this will truly make their Christmas and make you extremely popular while you’re at it.
