Have you heard of Aehra? The answer is almost certainly no, but it’s a name you’re sure to hear more of in the coming years. An all-new electric car company from Italy, with a founding team comprised of ex-Ferrari, Lamborghini and Alfa Romeo bods, today it has given us a first glance at its very first car.

We don’t know what it’s called, with the full reveal scheduled for October, but we do know it’s an electric SUV and, judging by the first five pictures alone, it’s quite a good looking one – there are even gullwing doors! Should we be surprised? Probably not, given that the Chief Design Officer penned the Murcielago LP640, Aventador, Huracan and Urus. The Head of Design, meanwhile, was responsible for the Reventon and the Aventador SV.

Deliveries of this new car will start in 2025, and in February 2023 a saloon Aehra will be unveiled, also to go on sale in early 2023. The company’s selling point? Cars that are “ultra premium” that will “eclipse all existing standards for in-cabin comfort, space, ownership and travelling experience”. They’re quite bold statements, as a Rolls-Royce Cullinan is really very comfortable indeed and to eclipse that would be quite some achievement.

There’s no word on price or performance just yet, but we’ve only got a few weeks to wait until all of our questions are answered.
