503PS Audi SQ8 e-tron is on sale now

Whichever version you choose, power comes from three electric motors that produce 503PS and 973Nm (718lb ft) of torque. They're fed by a huge 106kWh battery that gives the SQ8 a range of 276 miles between charges. 

Standard equipment across the range includes a sporty body kit, quattro all-wheel drive, air suspension, variable-ratio progressive steering and auto park with a 360-degree camera.

Inside, you get electrically adjustable sports seats with an 'S' embossed into their Valcona leather, a three-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel and LED cabin lighting. Standard kit includes a head-up display, digital instrument binnacle, keyless-go, four-zone climate control and a Bang & Olufsen stereo. Black Edition versions can be spotted by their 21-inch wheels, while high-end Vorsprung models roll on 22-inch rims.

Vorsprung models get additional kit including shapeshifting matrix LED headlights and rear-facing cameras where you'd expect to find wing mirrors. They also have active cruise control and lane assist, meaning the Audi can do much of the driving for you in queuing traffic and on the motorway. This self-drive tech can be added to Black Edition cars as part of the £1,995 Tour Pack. 

On the inside, ticking the Vorsprung box adds soft-close doors, carbon-fibre trims, an electrically adjustable and heated steering wheel, extended cabin leather and blinds hidden in the rear doors.

Vorsrung versions of the SQ8 come fitted as standard with the S Technology Pack Pro (a £2,595 option on the Black Edition), bringing an illuminated grille, panoramic sunroof, rear seat heating and USB-C charging sockets for passengers in the back. 

While the Black Edition SUV is priced from £97,500, Vorprung will set you back  £114,500. The Sportback costs £100,000 (Black Edition) or £117,000 (Vorsprung).
