2019 is a monumental year to Bentley Motors for two reasons – not only is the British manufacturer celebrating its centenary, but it will also reveal its first all-wheel-steering model, the redesigned from the ground up, third-generation Flying Spur.
This electronic all-wheel-steering system promises to enhance high-speed stability, steering the rear wheels in the same direction as the fronts in order to make overtaking and lane-changes safer and easier. The system is equally helpful at low speeds, making the luxury sedan more agile around town.
As with its predecessors, the model also features all-wheel-drive, albeit switchable for the first time. While driving in standard road conditions, the car will run with rear-wheel-drive only before automatically switching back to all-wheel-drive when slip is detected.
Also new to the four-door sedan is Bentley’s Dynamic Ride, an innovative system which adjusts suspension stiffness to combat cornering forces and minimise body roll, thus improving both handling and ride comfort.
The British carmaker will pull the wraps off this new, high-tech new model, and release the full tech specs, at 11am on Tuesday 11th June.
