Czinger chases 250mph with 21C

Czinger isn’t playing any games at its home motoring event, Monterey Car Week, with two big reveals underway. Joining the all-new Hyper GT is this, the 21C V Max, the second body style of the 21C focused more on acceleration and top speed than track times, downforce and cornering performance.

Much like the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, the V Max sees the 21C lose its aggressive wings, canards and associated aero addenda. Instead, it features an elongated and pinched tail section, for added high-speed stability, and might we say it’s a much more elegant look too. Also smoothing the 21C’s shape are carbon wheel covers. The car is presented in the new eye-catching ‘Red My Mind’ colour which joins ‘Blue My Mind’ shown on the high-downforce car that completes Czinger’s Car Week trio.

It’s claimed the V Max will lead the industry in terms of acceleration figures, 0-250mph-0 times and quarter-mile times, though no exact top speed has been stated for this new design. It should be pretty impressive, given that 250mph is almost implied in the above accelerate and stop metrics. Have that McLaren Speedtail

There’s plenty of grunt to make it happen, too, given the 21C V Max retains the standard car’s 2.88-litre twin-turbo V8 and hybrid electric assistance, for a combined 1,250PS (932kW) output. Whether the V Max will be chasing after the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, and Bugatti Chiron Super Sport at 300mph and beyond remains to be seen.

“This is an exciting journey for us as we shatter the boundaries of design and performance,” said founder and CEO Kevin Czinger.

“The V Max is a new chapter in the 21C story, delivering high top speeds, unrivalled road and track performance and timeless elegance. This is a historic moment in time and one that will fundamentally change automotive manufacturing for generations to come. The future isn’t 10, 20 or 30 years away. The future is now.”

The only question that remains is, which would you have? 21C V Max, Jesko Absolut, Venom F5, Chiron SS or SSC Tuatara?
