Faraday Future reveals pre-production FF91 | FOS Future Lab

Faraday Future has revealed the pre-production specification for its FF91 EV, with a best look yet at what buyers will actually get as well as what numbers the FF91 will put down. Five years in the making, it needs to be good.

And it sounds like it is. The FF91 Pre Production numbers are as follows: 1,050PS-plus (772kW) via three motors and all-wheel-drive, with over 350 miles of range and fast charging capability. Faraday Future says the FF91’s battery near-on doubles the energy density of most production automotive batteries. Performance should be pretty spectacular when not chasing range, with the FF91 said to be capable of 0-60mph in 2.39 seconds.

While the looks on the outside suggest the FF91 will be some kind of futuristic minivan with seating for seven, on the inside, it’s a very different story. A strict four-seater, the back of the FF91 resembles a first-class seat on an airliner. The enormous space is enough for passengers to near-on fully recline for a comfortable sleeping position. Needless to say, the tech is top tier, with screens abound for everything from entertainment to inc-car climate.

It’s claimed the FF91 should be in production at the marque’s Californian facility by the end of 2022. Reservations are open now for US customers. Is the FF91 still the future of luxury motoring five years on from its initial concept reveal, or has Mercedes caught up with the EQS? Let us know your thoughts.

Welcome to FOS Future Lab where we report on the latest visions of future technology. We'll be boldly covering flying cars, hoverboards, jetpacks and spaceships with plenty of down to earth topics in between.
