This space-age vision in fluid silver from Aston Martin Lagonda was unveiled today at Geneva.
Called the Lagonda Vision Concept, it previews the first of two Lagonda saloons which CEO Andy Palmer pledged as part of his Second Century Plan for Aston Martin when he moved to the company from Nissan in 2014. Both Lagondas should be on sale by 2023.
Dr Palmer's vision for Aston Martin when he took over, took the shape of seven models in seven years: the DB11, new Vantage, Vanquish, DBX crossover, two Lagondas and a mid-engined sports car. So far it's proving a huge success, with Aston Martin firmly in the black and recording new levels of profitability: annual pre-tax profits grew by a quarter of a billion pounds year on year.
The Lagonda Vision Concept, says Aston, "marks the beginning of a new range of state-of-the-art, emission-free luxury vehicles."
Aston Martin is aiming for Lagonda to be the world's first zero-emission luxury brand. The company promises that the Lagonda Vision Concept will "confound traditional thinking and take full advantage of the latest advances in electrification and autonomous driving technologies".
Aston Martin also unveiled a track-only version of its astonishing hypercar, the Valkyrie AMR Pro. AMR was launched as a performance sub-brand of the marque last year and includes dynamic and styling upgrades... as if the Valkyrie needed to be any more bonkers.
Aston Martin also announced an official partnership with TAG Heuer at the show.
