Peugeot has teased an all-new car and an all-new name: 408. “A new species of Peugeot,” says the company, it’ll be unveiled in June and sold worldwide from the end of the year.
What is it? Sadly, as much as we’d love to say a 508 coupe and something of a successor to the glorious 406 coupe, Peugeot says the new car “combines the characteristic codes of SUVs with a dynamic fastback silhouette”. The keyword there is SUV, so expect this to be a rival to the Renault Arkana, with petrol, diesel and hybrid powertrain offerings.
Not the most thrilling new vehicle perhaps, then, but Peugeot’s styling is absolutely on point at the moment. So, if we’re honest, we’re quite looking forward to seeing it.
