Various 928 derivatives are on display at the annual Paris classic car fest, with a unique prototype model taking the starring role on the Porsche Classic stand.
This unusual prototype is a one-off long-wheelbase 928, lengthened by 250mm to accommodate four fully-grown adults in comfort. This oddly-proportioned stretched 928 was based on the more power S model, and was built under the code name 942 for Ferry Porsche’s personal use as a gift from the Company bearing his name for his 75th birthday.
Presented to Ferry Porsche on 19 September 1984 in a special metallic dark forest green colour, this unique 928 also featured special fixed head lamps, raised and resembling ants’ eyes, rather than the distinctive pop-up flat ‘fish eye’ style found on regular production 928 models.
The one-off long wheelbase 928 S can usually be found on display at the Porsche Museum near Stuttgart, Germany.
