Lamborghini has celebrated its 60th anniversary in a burst of colour with the Opera Unica – or Unique Work in English. Based on the company's 1,015PS Revuelto hybrid hypercar, it could be the first Lamborghini to make it onto the fabled pages of Goodwood's best art cars.
In an announcement that'll leave you thankful for that C grade in Latin, Lamborghini tells us it developed the car to show off the company's Ad Personam (or To The Person, in English) personalisation scheme.
The Opera Unica's hand-painted exterior fades from Viola Pasifae violet to Nero Helene black, a process that took 435 man hours to complete. A subtle 60th-anniversary logo on the bonnet pays a more obvious tribute to the celebrations.
The interior gets a similar explosion of colour. The two-tone leather upholstery (in Nero Ade black and Viola Acutus violet) is complemented by seats, doors, and embroidered headliner – using the same colours found outside – with the 60th-anniversary logo.
Mitja Borkert, Automobili Lamborghini's Design Director, said: "We wanted to create something purely artistic using brushes and a combination of colours as if the Revuelto was a canvas. That is what fueled our inspiration for this special livery. With the dynamic hand-painted exterior, we really emphasise the aerodynamics and speed of the car."
Unveiled in Miami Beach, Florida, the Opera Unica was the highlight of an event featuring artworks commissioned by Automobili Lamborghini America dealers.
