Audi has given the sportiest version of its lead-in SUV, the SQ2, a more purposeful new look, giving it the family front end already seen on other Q2 models.
A rival for small-but-fast crossovers like the BMW X2 M35i and Mercedes-AMG GLA35, the Audi contender gets changes that centre on a lower-set grille, now with polygon motif insert. It’s not a major change but along with tweaks to the air inlets and LED lights, the result is more striking than you might imagine.
Otherwise the 300PS all-wheel-drive baby bombshell (0-62mph takes a mere 4.9 seconds) is as before, though with the big change inside being the switch to the fully digital ‘virtual cockpit’ with its 12.3-inch display and MMI navigation. There’s more connectivity too and additional features as standard such as rear-view camera.
As before you can get SQ2 and Black Edition models but now there’s the addition of a top of the range SQ2 Vorsprung which gets extra features including Matrix LED units, exclusive alloy wheels, front seat heating, Nappa leather sport seats, a panoramic sunroof, Bang & Olufsen audio and extra driver assistance features such as hands-free parking.
The revised models start from £38,700 and first deliveries are in early 2021.
