When you think of the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, fast cars and curiosities spring to mind. But often overlooked are the dozens of legendary motorcycles that we welcome to the hillclimb each year.
Admittedly, they’re nowhere near as numerous as the four-wheelers, but they’re certainly as impressive – as are the incredibly talented riders who pilot them up the hill. So, when a video such as this pops up, we just have to share it. Featuring the very best of the bikes that graced last year’s event, it’s a not-so-gentle reminder that loud pipes saves lives… (Well maybe that’s a bit dramatic, but they’re certainly helping to alleviate our boredom during lockdown.)
So schedule a 15-minute break and enjoy the very best of last year’s motorcycle batch, and watch the likes of Marc Marquez's 2018 Honda RC312V MotoGP bike, a Rolls-Royce 250-C20B turbine powered bike, the 2019 Triumph Moto2 machine and many others fly up the epic 1.16-mile run…
Enjoy the sweet sound of various engine configurations and imagine the smell of two-stroke smoke. With this year’s Festival of Speed cancelled due to Coronavirus, it’s the closest that we’re going to get for a while… That is unless you're watching the FOS 2015 re-stream this weekend, which, of course, you will be.
