In relatively little time, Toyota’s GR Yaris has taken the supermini class by storm, offering real performance in a petite, road-going package. And professional drivers have wasted no time in putting it through its paces, starting with its dynamic debut at Goodwood Speedweek presented by Mastercard in the hands of Elfyn Evans.
We knew it wouldn’t be long before the car found its way to the Nordschleife, and have eagerly anticipated an onboard. And here it is: Seven minutes and 56 seconds of heavy acceleration, hard braking and screeching tyres. Watch as the driver, who goes by the name of Captain Gaskrank on YouTube, cuts a racing line around the ‘Ring, passing the likes of GT-Rs (and old Vauxhall Corsas) as he pushes more than 120mph in the completely stock car.
It’s a blistering lap, and true testament to the GR Yaris’ incredible performance.
