The Jaguar F-Type is an old car, it’s been with us since the start of the last decade. But, just because a car is getting a little long in the tooth doesn’t mean it’s ready for the scrapheap just yet. Jaguar has decided that, rather than bin it’s big coupe sportscar, the F-Type was actually due a facelift. And that’s what we have here.
This is the newest Jaguar F-Type, it has a V8, like the old one, and the option of a four-cylinder petrol, like the old one. But, unlike its predecessor, there is no V6 any more, and no option of a manual gearbox. The P450, which we test today, has 450PS (331kW) from its version of Jaguar’s supercharged V8 and has had a bit of a nip and tuck around the face. But is it up to standard in 2021? Or does it feel left behind? Or, actually, is its relative age actually one of its strengths? We drove it to find out.
