The Ferrari 812 Superfast is not a quiet car. When its 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine starts up it's loud enough to wake entire postcodes. For some, that isn’t enough, they prefer to wake up an entire town. Enter the Novitec Ferrari 812 GTS N-Largo.
GTS denotes that this is the drop-top 812, which we have tested here at Goodwood. At no point in our drive did we think it wasn’t delightfully sonorous enough. Clearly there are 812 drivers out there who are only happy if they get home with bleeding ears.
What Novitec does to create the N-Largo is add new exhaust pipes, new catalytic converters, new wheels, new suspension and new carbon-fibre bodywork to make the GTS 7cm wider at the front and 14cm wider at the rear. Only 18 will be made and the results are striking. Thanks to the freer exhaust there’s a bit more power and torque, up to 840PS (618kW) and 751Nm (554lb ft) from 800PS (588kW) and 718Nm (531lb ft).
The noise? Ridiculous. Novitec did a point-of-view video with one, and, even though it was filmed in Germany, we’re shocked we didn’t hear it from Goodwood. Too loud? We’ll let you decide.
