Porsche’s Cayman keeps on creeping into the 911’s territory. Or at least it seems too. First the GT4 came along, which pushed very strongly into the performance realms of the 911 and now the GT4 RS is here, looking to all intents and purposes like the ultimate stripped out, souped up Porsche racer.
But, is that the case? Or is Porsche right in saying both can co-exist. Is the Cayman the one that could be the ultimate Porsche for the road while the 911 GT3 is the one for the track? With a new air intake to add rasp the amazing scream of the 9,000rpm red line on its 500PS (368kW) flat-six engine, and a 0-62mph time of 3.4 seconds that matches the GT3, it feels like it might be tough for them to co-habit the Porsche range.
