Aston Martin is coming out of the gates in 2023 with a smoking rolling burnout, teasing the imminent arrival of a new special edition of the DBS. Not just a paint job, special leather and custom helmets, the DBS 770 Ultimate is to get chunkier looks, revised driving dynamics and a boost for its 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 to, you guessed it, 770PS (566kW).
Just 499 units are set to be produced of the DBS 770 Ultimate, which is to be ‘uncaged’ in early 2023. So expect to see it revealed in full in the next few weeks. Given this is described by Aston as ‘the ultimate finale to a bloodline’, could this really spell the end for the DBS? Now ex-CEO Tobias Moers indicated during his short reign that the entire line-up of GTs was due a comprehensive refresh in 2023. If that holds true, the DBS 770 Ultimate could just be a run-out for the V12 flagship in its current form. If plans have changed since, this really could be the end. We’ll be curious to find out.
