That the 1960s was a revolutionary decade is not in doubt. It saw the civil rights and women’s liberation movements, the first man on the moon and the riots of May ’68.
It was also the era of a revolution in personal mobility as car ownership became much more affordable. Not only did the Austin Mini create an entirely new way of designing and engineering family cars but speed and style came within reach of many more people thanks to cars like the Ford Mustang and Jaguar E-type.
