Audi’s position as the proprietor of inimitable all-weather performance is undeniable. For 40 years, its quattro all-wheel-drive system has been providing an edge rivals haven’t been able to match until very recently. Originally introduced to shoot the marque to WRC glory in the early 1980s, quattro is to Audi now, what M is to BMW. There were many hits and misses over those four decades but we’ve chosen to count down eight of our favourites.
Of course, the original Quattro has pride of place, as does the legendary Porsche-engineered RS2.
