We love to call the Goodwood Revival a magical step back in time, so good is the overall recreation of the motoring period of the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. With everyone dressed up and the cars smoking around, you could be fooled. Well, to that same end of immersion in a bygone era, this selection of upscaled footage should fascinate and delight.
Featuring Buicks, Cadillacs, Fords, Mercurys, Plymouths, Packards and more, this Los Angeles highway is abuzz with machinery that, while delightful today, was largely seen as white goods then. No, they’re not all a strange grey or dull blue. The colour addition in the video was more for ambiance, to highlight the grass. The cars themselves haven’t actually been colourised. They’re clear to see – and hear, thanks to a sound mod – in all their HD, high framerate glory. The wonders of technology keeping 70-year-old scenes alive. What’s your favourite of all the cars you saw in the clips?
