Even the owners of ultra-rare hypercars can't guarantee perfect weather for the limited occasions on which they exercise their beasts, so wet weather testing is just as necessary for them as for regular road cars. Hence the sight of an Aston Martin Valkyrie trailing, not as it first appears a cloud of tyre smoke, but a rooster tail of spray at the Mugello Circuit in Italy.
The unknown test driver is displaying circumspection at the start of the shakedown but equally plenty of bravery as the tyres warm and he finds the flow. Which means we get to enjoy the sound of the Valkyrie's Cosworth RA 6.5-litre V12. Naturally aspirated this pushes out an even 1,000PS and 740Nm with a redline of 11,100rpm. A hybrid system developed in part by Rimac adds an additional 160PS. Easily enough to overwhelm any set of tyres in the dry, let alone on a soaking wet test track. Much respect to the wheelman here.
